All About Pre-Order
Share
Pre-order is an interesting concept. To be frank, I didn’t really “get it” before I started this business. I want to briefly explain what it is, why some clothing companies do it, and why it is helpful for you and for me.
Pre-ordering is when you, the consumer, buy my clothing before it is officially available. Instead of waiting for my first batch production, you place your order in advance, ensuring you’ll get your size and style.
For you, the consumer: it guarantees availability, and it’s risk-free because you can return the piece for a refund if it doesn’t work. It also gives you a direct role in supporting our growing brand and being part of the PIK journey!
For me, the owner: it keeps the business efficient, eco-conscious and sustainable; it keeps quality high.
Broadly, pre-ordering reduces overproduction, fabric waste, and unnecessary labor—three major challenges in the fashion industry. Specifically for PIK, as I use a family owned and operated factory with roughly 40 sewers, we TRULY are a made-to-order business. This doesn’t just mean you order something generic and we slap a logo on it. I source and make what I know will be worn and loved.
Logically, I get it — it might seem risky to pre-order athleticwear from a new brand, especially if you’ve never tried it on.
This is one of the main reasons why I’ve been transparent about the development process and my journey with PIK so far — not only has it been fun to share all of it, but I am a huge believer in being ridiculously authentic. To me, this means being honest, direct and sometimes a little goofy! I try to put my personality behind everything (no AI-generated content here!), so I hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know me.
If you want to pre-order, it would mean the world! Thanks to those of you who have :)
