What does "real" mean at PIK?

Why “real” sportswear for “real” people? Doesn’t this almost sound simple? Too general? Trite, even? I thought so, until it was just the most authentic way I could describe these clothes. 

What’s funny is – all I could think about when I put on the samples for the first time was “finally.” I felt stylish, comfortable, classic, and just real. I felt like myself. I felt grown-up in high-quality sportswear, which I hadn’t felt in years.

I talked to two people who helped me refine my vision and my slogan for the brand: my husband and my Dad.

Both conversations helped me break down exactly what I was trying to create. At the end of the day, I wanted real people – not fitness models, not teenagers, not people with the perfect “everything” – but you, your mom, your husband, your friend, or your grandparent – to feel great in comfortable, classic activewear.

This is sportswear that real people can wear from sport to running errands, picking up the kids, or grocery shopping. It’s the kind of modest, stylish activewear that feels grown-up, something you don’t feel sloppy or cheeky wearing out in public. Finally.

After all, these are “real” activities, aren’t they? This is what most of us do daily or weekly. We’re the people who don’t have hours to spend in the gym or on meal prep but are active as much as we can be and do our best to lead healthy lives. We deserve everyday activewear essentials that fit our lives.

Real. Normal. Everyday. People. Doing real, normal, everyday things.
